Bakkavör is one of Europe's largest manufacturers of fresh prepared foods. Albert Heijn is one of the largest supermarket chains in the Netherlands. Bakkavör, that produces some of the prepared meals for Albert Heijn, contacted us to do some packaging studies.
In the initial meeting we got some short description of a new prepared meal and the mood that goes with that type of meal. We were asked to first create a moodboard for this meal, and then translate this into a packaging design for the meal. Since these designs would just be used to communicate a vision to Albert Heijn, they did not really have to be production ready yet, but they had to look like they would with the food in them.
These moodboards and concept-designs had to be mounted on presentation boards, so that they could be easily and decently presented to Albert Heijn.
